Monteverde - Ecuador
LNG PACIFIC TERMINAL
Cryogenic Storage Terminal, Regasification, Transportation and Comercialization of Natural Gas.
Pacific Terminal Objectives
Our objective is to introduce natural gas in Ecuador, changing the energy matrix and replacing the use of diesel and fuel oil in the shrimp industry, commercial, vehicle, domestic use and electricity generation. This will reduce the cost of fuel for the industry and the shrimp sector, increasing its competitiveness and encouraging new investments.
We want to promote the use of natural gas as fuel in the vehicle and domestic sectors, with the consequent decrease in costs and subsidies. LNG is the cleanest fuel with a minimal carbon footprint, representing an alternative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the energy transition.

The import of natural gas represents a new transformative energy for Ecuador's energy matrix.
Storage and Installation
Storage tanks with regasification systems, necessary security and optimal supervision tools will be installed at the consumer site.
Gas Distribution
Thanks to the liquefied Natural Gas Reception Terminal, the gas supply to the country will be carried out by trucks or gas pipelines.
Gas Pipeline Transportation
Natural gas is transported in gaseous form by gas pipeline to the point of consumption, for electrical, industrial, shrimp, commercial, vehicular and domestic use.
PACIFICTERMINAL: a revolution in access to natural gas.
Project Benefits
Diversification of the Energy Matrix
The introduction of natural gas reduces dependence on diesel, fuel oil and LPG, diversifying the energy matrix for industrial, electrical and shrimp industry.
Employment generation
The construction and operation of the Natural Gas Terminal will create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities in various sectors.
Energy Cost Reduction
The use of natural gas allows energy cost reduction, economically benefiting the user and promoting a more sustainable use of resources.
Regional Economic Growth
Replacing the consumption of diesel and fuel oil with natural gas in the private sector will generate savings of hundreds of millions of dollars.

By replacing fuel oil, GLP and diesel consumption with Natural Gas, the private sector would save $500 million per year.

Natural gas enables a very significant increase in shrimp production and a significant reduction in costs.

The replacement of liquid fuels with natural gas implies a saving of 3 billion dollars annually for the country.
Project Location
Gas Pipeline Route
The route of the gas pipeline from Monteverde to Guayaquil is shown in the blue layout with a distance of 100 km.
70,000 hectares of shrimp farms will be able to be served up to Guayaquil, where some important industries are located: HOLCIM, brewing plants, glass factories, plastics, food, dairy, etc.

Transport by Iso Containers and Gas Pipelines
Liquid natural gas (LNG) will reach consumers through ISO cryogenic containers. Alternatively, once the LNG is regasified on land, it will be transported through gas pipelines to consumption points.
